• The beginning of each hole, on our course, is introduced by Japanese Tori's, upon which is the hole name.
• Each name is extracted from the I Ching and expressed both in Western signage and Eastern calligraphy.

On this skilled course, "Fun" is partnered with respect unlike the robust Western version of miniature golf which may take on psuedo glimpses of golf while using ball and putter only.

Peace / Negotiating (Harmony)

Harmony is the cosmic nature of evolution. It is to contain within, such centering that neither internal nor external opposition, contrariness nor changes can alter the ultimateless nature of Being.

Peace / Negotiating is a dogleg left hole that has a predominately left to right break, with a water hazard guarding the northeast portion of the green.

Keeping Still

There is a time for Keeping Still and there is a manner of keeping still which relates to any experience involving movement, whether the movement is physical, mental or spiritual.

Keeping Still is straight downhill hole containing a subtle left to right break.

Treading

Treading implies moving along a restricted route. This means that one has only certain well defined obligations like those held to others in The Family.

Treading is a dogleg right hole beginning with a downhill putt and then continues uphill after the turn to a left to right breaking green.

The Joyous

The Joyous feeling in a happy family is greatly enhanced by exchanging favors and delivering to one another. Family is a joyous inter-relationship of kin.

The Joyous has a severe dogleg left "U-turn" putt of 16 - 18 feet into a steep slope which breaks the ball backs into the reverse direction to a pin positioned slightly right of center.

Limitation

The universe is an endless process of change. Everything that seems to exist has its limitation, its stopping point.

Limitation begins with a 40 foot first putt breaking left to right. The hole forms a reverse "J" with a green surrounded by sand dunes.

Retreat

In an untenable situation a strategic retreat is the only wise response. But one must retreat with plan and decisively.

Retreat features a double water hazard, the hole beginning with an uphill putt past the first water hazard on the right at 16 feet. Fifteen feet beyond is a second water hazard on the left with an approach to a green set to the right

Decrease

When one is wounded and experiencing Decrease of what is desirable, it is time to Return to a reconsideration of how one is living one's life.

Decrease contains a double dogleg, turning right and then left, with a 13 foot downhill final entry to the green.

Abundance

Abundance means large quantity. It can be desirable or undesirable. When concerned about Abundance be sure it is desirable before wanting it. A ton of salt will not sweeten a cup of tea.

Abundance's fairway undulates down through a valley and then up onto a small approach area for a final 20 foot approach to the green.

Holding Together

When one relates harmoniously with others it effects a trust that unites people for a common end. To be aware of this is to be free from it's shackles of Holding Together and to alert to its opportunities.

Holding Together is double dogleg that begins on a severe uphill grade braking to the right. At the top of the hill one faces an approach shot past a frontal water hazard, breaking left to the green.

Return

Life manifests as two systems of change - cyclical and sequential. All change is determined by an arbitrarily selected condition of non-change. The universe persists through the phenomenon of renewal as the activity of the receptive.

Return is a straight hole, with water both surrounding the green and underneath the fairway. The fairway is suspended over a water-filled depression with comes into play on 5 holes of the back nine.

Difficulty at the Beginning

In the beginning, all of the factors which comprise the full nature of the thing are scattered and often immaterialized. For a seed to become its potential, it must split apart.

Difficulty at the Beginning is a dogleg left with a gradual break to the right. A stand of cotton-wood trees hides the green from sight while standing on the tee.

Obstruction

Different kinds of obstructions have different origins. Examining obstructions, you find a way to overcome them.

Obstruction is a short sharp dogleg right, the green directly under the "eagle's nest", which is built under the frame pagoda roof that covers a large portion of the back nine.

Modesty

Being respectful is to recognize another's worth. Being humble is to be reserved in displaying accomplishments.

Modesty is a difficult dogleg left. The hole is predominately uphill with a right to left break to a green that sits just outside the pagoda's boundaries.

Break-Through

To effect a Break-Through, one must turn inside to inner powers of creativeness. Break-Through implies getting beyond oneself.

Break-Through sweeps left over a canal directly in front of the green.

Inner Truth

Delving into one's own being brings confrontation with what one really is, as opposed to what one has been told one should be.

Inner Truth begins with a long first putt over a canal water hazard to an approach area. The second putt is then uphill with a left to right break to the green.

Approach

Approach is provisional, concerned with that which is about to be.

Approach is a dogleg right with water along the right side. The first putt breaks left to right over a water hazard. The second putt is downhill and straight-away and flattens at the bottom of the green.

Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is a before or after experience. Enthusiasm enables one to overcome obstruction. Accomplishment is easiest when one generates Enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is a severe dogleg. This hole is relatively flat with a lag first putt of 10 to 11 feet followed by a second approach putt of approximately 18 feet.

Calculated Inaction

Calculated Inaction is the controlling of an impulse or reflex until the opportune moment has arrived. With understanding one learns the proper time to act.

Calculated Inaction is the longest hole on the back nine. As a final challenge, this dogleg right hole has a flat, left to right breaking first putt leaving the player with a long uphill approach to the green.
